THE VETTING PROCESS

We have worked closely with the UK’s top gambling lawyers to ensure that our vetting process abides by the Gambling Commission policies and expectations for prize competitions/online raffles. We hope that our strict vetting process will make playing online raffles a much safer and secure experience for everybody participating.

Below is an outline of the steps we take when vetting an online raffle provider to ensure they are legitimate. *Please note that the list below does not show our full vetting process.

**Skill Based Question

The Gambling Act 2005 says that to avoid being an illegal lottery, a difficult question or problem puzzle must be set as part of the entry process. Furthermore, the question or puzzle must be difficult enough for a “significant” number of people to get wrong.

Here at Rafflers we have found it impossible to judge what is classed as ‘a question difficult enough that a significant number of people will get it wrong’ as what maybe difficult to us maybe not be difficult to others.

The Gambling Commission has stated that as long as a FREE ENTRY route is available for entrants then an easy or multiple choice question is allowed.

As part of our vetting process and confirming that an online raffle provider is legitimate we require that the FREE ENTRY information is displayed at the same level as the ENTER NOW button. As long as this is in place and the T&C’s about free entry is one click away from the raffle entry page and all of the above expectations are met, then we will approve the raffle provider as legitimate.
