A ‘Mini Draw’ is the non official term for a competition that gives entrants the chance to win multiple tickets or entries for a main prize listed in a separate prize competition.
To explain further we have given an example below of how a mini draw works:-
Main Draw
An competition provider is giving away a car as a main prize. You have the option to purchase tickets as normal to win this car.
Mini Draw
Additionally, the competition provider will create a completely separate competition where tickets can be won that allow several entries into the main prize of the car.
An example here would be something like the following:-
Win 250 entries into the Car Competition.
If then you win this ‘mini draw’, you have 250 entries for the main car competition. You will be able to redeem the mini draw tickets when entering for the chance to win the main prize.
Why is a Mini Draw Beneficial?
Winning a mini draw is an affective way of hugely increasing your chances of winning the main prize on offer. If, for example, you did win 250 tickets/entries, you are potentially increasing your odds of winning the main prize. The decision you have to make is whether you save your money to buy tickets directly for the main prize or use your money to try and win the 250 tickets on offer in the main draw!
